Honey Apple Cake

  • 1 C sifted flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 C shortening
  • 1/2 C white sugar
  • 1/2 C Dutch Gold Wildflower Honey
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 2 C chopped apples
  • 1 c chopped walnuts


  1. Lightly grease bottom of cake pan. Sift together the first 4 ingredients. Put shortening in bowl, then add sugar and honey gradually, beat until fluffy after each addition. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in apples, beating only until blended after each addition. Add dry ingredients in thirds, finally beat until smooth, but do not overbeat. Blend in chopped nuts. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes in an 8x8x2.5- inch pan.
